Kelp / Brown Seaweed
Laminaria japonica
Kelp's alginic acid binds radioactive strontium-90 and heavy metals — specifically relevant for cancer patients exposed to radiation therapy or living in areas with environmental radiation contamination. Fucoidan in kelp shows anti-tumour activity against breast, colon, and lung cancers. Kelp also provides organic iodine essential for thyroid function during treatment.
