Amla / Indian Gooseberry Extended
Phyllanthus emblica
Amla has the highest antioxidant capacity of any natural food tested (by ORAC value). Its ellagic acid, emblicanin-A, emblicanin-B, and vitamin C show anti-cancer activity against colon, breast, liver, and pancreatic cancers. Amla's unique tannins are superoxide dismutase mimetics — protecting DNA from radiation and chemotherapy damage. It is a central ingredient in Chyawanprash and Triphala.
