Amla / Indian Gooseberry
Phyllanthus emblica
Amla is the richest natural source of vitamin C and contains tannins, gallic acid, and emblicanin A and B. It shows anti-tumour effects against colon, liver, cervical, and breast cancers and has radioprotective properties protecting normal cells during radiation. A key component of Triphala and Chyawanprash.

Recommended Dosage
500–3000 mg extract daily, or 1–3 fresh amla fruits daily, or 3–10 g Amla powder in water.
Preparations
Fresh Amla Juice
Juice 2–3 fresh amla fruits with water and a pinch of black salt. Drink on empty stomach in the morning.
Amla Powder in Water/Honey
1 tsp Amla powder in warm water with honey twice daily. Add to smoothies.

Cautions & Interactions
- May interact with blood-thinning medications
- Can lower blood sugar — monitor in diabetics
- Very sour — may irritate acid reflux
