Bromelain / Pineapple Enzyme
Ananas comosus
Bromelain, the proteolytic enzyme from pineapple, shows anti-cancer activity against breast, colon, lung, and ovarian cancer cells through multiple mechanisms including MAPK inhibition. It reduces cancer-associated inflammation, dissolves fibrin coats that cancer cells use to evade immune detection, enhances immune cell cytotoxicity, and reduces post-surgical swelling.
